About

Web Design & Front-end Development - I do that.

My web design roots began in video game fan sites around the year 2000. I picked up HTML and CSS basics after school as a hobby using resources online, the every trusty Notepad, Photoshop 6, and a whole lot of trial and error

Skip ahead 10 years: I’d been with Blizzard Entertainment since 2007 as a Quality Assurance Analyst and began my role as an Associate Web Designer mid-2010. Between joining the QA department for being good at killing internet dragons and getting hired onto the Web Team for being good at my long-time hobby, it’s been pretty awesome. Unfortunately, most of the work I produce there can’t be shown online.

What’s all this about video games?

After overloading on Ragnarok Online, Final Fantasy XI and World of Warcraft in my university years, I found myself burnt out on hardcore MMO play. For the past few years I’ve become a seriously casual gamer.

The simple pleasures are puzzle games like Henry Hatsworth, Puzzle Quest, Portal, and Braid. Since they’re easy to pick up and put down, I lovingly relegate them to the casual pile.

The titles I try to find time to play (because (1) they do a better job of validating my employment in the industry and (2) I adore them) include the likes of Mass Effect, Zelda, Dead Space, God of War, and Final Fantasy (even though Final Fantasy tends to work against point 1 these days).

My Blizzard-geek part lives itself out in the form of Cataclysm raiding about 7 hours a week, and spectating Starcraft 2 tournaments on GOMtv.net when I can.

“I want to go to there”

The travel bug comes and goes, so I can’t say that I just LOVE to travel period, but there are places that I’d like to see while I still have the use of my legs. In fact, my motivation for creating the current layout was to have a clean, light place to post about my Thailand 2011 adventures.

A job where I’m traveling while doing life and passion-sustaining work is the kind of hobo lifestyle I romanticise about (you know, without the penniless part).

...Lipglosses?

I really can’t explain it.
