Christmas break!

December 24th, 2009 at 5:49 pm No Comments

Back in Norcal for Christmas this year! Missed the family Christmas last year to stay in Irvine with Trent, and that was the first time I hadn’t spent at least a few days in December back home, so it’s nice to be back this time of year :)

New netbook in my possession since two days ago which is so awesomely small and smooth and portable and not the 12 pounds that I have to lug here and there anymore. Acquired as a gift from aforementioned manfriend as a thoughtful, “Do not want you to lug 12 pounds of machine here and there constantly just to maintain necessary contact with electronics” (paraphrased). Also got a beautiful handmade vintage bracelet from his mums. Very embarassingly, it was half unexpected so I didn’t gift her. I should have acted on the half-expected part :|

My own family never gifts each other though so the habit is very lacking. I happened to pick up something for mom because there was an amazing sale at the Coach outlet in Las Vegas, and a random I saw at Best Buy for dad, but it is a first.

Leaving for our uncle’s place soon where there will apparently be a lot lot of people. Picture opportunities! SF possibly on Saturday, then Yosemite on Sunday. Excited :)

Plum vinegar

December 10th, 2009 at 12:17 am No Comments

I’ve started drinking diluted plum vinegar. What the crap. Yea, my mom brought me a bottle and said it would be good for me. (She says lots of things are good for me.) I said, “Ma, I’m not going to drink vinegar, please take it back.” Well, she left it and now I’m drinking it. I happen to like vinegar to begin with, and the plum vinegar is kind of sweet. Just 1-2 tablespoons in a cup of water. According to the internets there are a lot of health benefits to drinking cider vinegar. I can’t attest to any of those though since so many new things have been introduced to my routine recently, but I don’t see any harm in it yet.

Tangent: That bottle was impossible to open. I tried a regular hand towel for grip for a few minutes, then running the cap under hot water, then both of those combined. Eventually I had to use the rubber bottom of a rug for lack of other rubber materials in the house. Not my most graceful moment. Victory, nonetheless.

How difficult is it to find black patent peep-toe pumps?

December 8th, 2009 at 1:35 am No Comments

I’ve been looking for a solid pair of classic looking peep-toed pumps in black patent leather since I borrowed Grace’s when I was last in Vegas.

shoes please

I never realized how many of us were wearing peep-toes that night till just now. Anyway, they were insanely painful (which is why my stance is a bit strange in that photo), but I fell in love with them regardless because they looked awesome. So for the past few months I’d been scouring Piperlime, Endless, Overstocked, and Zappos for the same style at an affordable price, and I swear it was SO. DIFFICULT. I probably wasn’t looking hard enough honestly, seeing as how I ended up finding a pair on Zappos this weekend anyway.

Enzo Angiolini Maylies for $60! With my recently acquired VIP membership at Zappos during their limited time upgrade offer, I ordered these at 5am Saturday night and received them Monday evening. The heel’s probably 0.5-1 inch lower than Grace’s, which is a good thing for me.

Planning to wear these during our company holiday party this Friday :)
